I digitally altered an old painting (by M. Wandscheer, dated 1886) to include the bit of skull, then printed it onto cotton fabric, and hand embroidered the "tattoo" of a bleeding heart. (The title actually came second, I was sitting down to do the embroidery when Placebo's 'You don't care about us' came on, which includes the line "think I'll leave it all behind, save this bleeding heart of mine". A little TOO on the nose, but also kind of hard to ignore.)
The fabric piece is attached to the wood backing the vintage metal frame came with. Unfortunately, it didn't have it's original glass, but I've sealed the fabric print to protect it.) There's a metal ring attached to the frame towards the top for easy hanging.
Please look at the dimensions in the beginning of the listing so you're aware of it's size before purchase.
* I do my best to represent each piece as best as I can, but due to differences in monitors/settings there's always the chance there are differences between what you see on your monitor and how the piece looks in person.
I do not accept returns or exchanges.
Again, please refer to the Shop Policies for more in-depth information on all the aspects I briefly covered above. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask first! I'd prefer exchanging 50 emails before you ever place your order to make sure you're happy in the end.
