Ouroboros was originally a digital collage I created in 2023 utilizing misc. images within the public domain. It's part of a series of digital pieces I've named Paper Worlds, due to the main images used being set designs for French opera houses in the early 1800's.

I took the same images I used for the digital piece and lightly planned out the physical piece, but since there are always things that can be tweaked digitally that you can't do quite the same with just paper, there are variations between the digital piece and the paper one. From reworking the digital images, I print them out on my Canon photo printer on the paper detailed above, cut them out, and did my best to align them the way I had originally. (The tree on the leg did a bit of it's own thing, so now I pretend it's just swaying a bit in the breeze.)

Otherwise, I painted floral wire a dark gray to recreate the circles in the background of the original, and use cut up tongue depressors (not used, of course) to create some space and depth to the piece. It's all glued into space on an 11x14 piece of paper (same paper I used for the all the figures) which makes it super easy to pop into a frame.

Prints will only ever be made from the original digital version, not from the mixed-media piece, so this is a true one of a kind in that sense.

It'll be shipped flat the same way my photographic prints are.

Please look at the dimensions in the beginning of the listing so you're aware of it's size before purchase.

* I do my best to represent each piece as best as I can, but due to differences in monitors/settings there's always the chance there are differences between what you see on your monitor and how the piece looks in person.

Return Policy:

I do not accept returns or exchanges.

Again, please refer to the Shop Policies for more in-depth information on all the aspects I briefly covered above. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask first! I'd prefer exchanging 50 emails before you ever place your order to make sure you're happy in the end.
